What to Expect from the 2021 Toyota Tundra
Beside the crossover/SUV market, the pickup truck segment is perhaps the most competitive. Trucks nowadays need to have high performance numbers and capacities, as well as developed comfort and safety suites to support families. For many, the truck has become a rugged daily driver.
The 2021 Toyota Tundra lives up to those expectations. With one of the most powerful naturally aspirated engines in its class and a plethora of great features to keep you and your passengers engaged, comfortable and safe, the 2021 Tundra is an excellent choice. And it’s now available with more options than ever. Here’s what you can expect from the new 2021 Toyota Tundra.
Two New Trims
The 2021 Toyota Tundra has two new trims to choose from: Nightshade Edition and Trail Special Edition. Many other Toyota vehicles feature a Nightshade Edition variant and this Tundra version follows a similar schematic. It is based off of the Limited trim, but with numerous cosmetic changes, like black 20-inch alloy rims, black leather upholstery, and other black exterior accents. The Trail Special Edition is a true limited edition, with only 5000 being made. It’s based off of the SR5 CrewMax. When it comes to styling, it has black exterior badging, black upholstery with tan contrast stitching, the body-color grille found on the Tundra 1794 Edition, and 18-inch alloy wheels. It also gets all-terrain tires, a lockable cargo bed storage unit, and all-weather floor mats.
The 2021 Tundra is powered by the tried-and-true 5.7-liter V8 that puts out 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft. Inside the cabin, you can expect a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Amazon Alexa and Bluetooth capability, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, three USB ports, and voice recognition software. Standard safety features include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, and a rearview camera.
