Toyota Showcases New Mobility Services at CES 2018

What is the e-Palette Concept Vehicle? 

With plenty of technology and automotive shows taking place these past few weeks, there has been plenty new information to come from Toyota. While we already talked about the impressive new Toyota TRI Platform 3.0 automated vehicle, Toyota had a lot more to share about the future of mobility. So exactly what is the e-Palette Concept Vehicle?

The new e-Palette Concept Vehicle is a completely autonomous vehicle that is battery-electric powered. These will be used as part of the e-Palette Alliance, which works with Toyota’s Global Mobility Services Platform to allow companies to serve customers 24/7 in a variety of ways.

What Kind of Services Will be Provided with the e-Palette Alliance? 

Some of the services Toyota showed at CES include public transportation ride sharing, food delivery, shuttles to the airport or hospital, just to name a few. In fact, companies such as Amazon, DiDi, Mazda, Pizza Hut and Uber are all collaborating with Toyota on vehicle planning, concepts and more. This new service is hoping to make customers’ lives more convenient, productive and efficient as they go on throughout their day.  

The new e-Palette Concept Vehicle will also be designed with three different lengths depending on what purpose they are serving for customers. The dimensions of the e-Palette Concept Vehicle shown at CES 2018 vary with 4,800mm, 2,000mm and 2,250mm sizes, as lengths vary from 4m to 7m.
