Toyota Celebrating National Safety Month
Back in June, many people automotive organizations and manufacturers were trying to help spread awareness with National Safety Month. Celebrated each June, these people give efforts to reduce the number of unintentional injuries and even deaths that can happen when behind the wheel of a vehicle. So, how is Toyota celebrating National Safety Month?
Buckle Up for Life Program
For the 2019 National Safety Month, Toyota and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center teamed up to help educate parents and caregivers by offering tips and advice about the proper use of all kinds of car seats, booster seats and seat belts through their Buckle Up for Life program.
Buckle Up for Life is a national safety program from both Toyota and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center that was originally launched back in 2004. This program has been able to help more than 100,000 people and has given more than 60,000 car seats to families in need of the extra safety seats for their children.
“While it’s true that cars and trucks are safer than ever, a properly installed car seat can mean the difference between life and death in a crash. According to the CDC, car seats reduce the risk for injury in a crash by 71 to 82 percent for children when compared with seat belt use alone. That’s why Buckle Up for Life is so important and why I’m so inspired to keep expanding the program.”
