2020 Toyota Highlander Cargo Space, Seating Capacity, and Other Dimensions
Redesigned for the new model year, the 2020 Toyota Highlander has been getting a lot of attention. Critics and owners alike have been praising it for its spaciousness and comfort. But spacious can mean different things to different people. When it comes down to it, a Sport Utility Vehicle should have utility. How does the 2020 Toyota Highlander stack up? Is it practical and useful?
How big is the 2020 Toyota Highlander cargo bay?
Generous Cargo Space
The 2020 Toyota Highlander is a three-row midsize crossover SUV. That means there’s three different cargo capacities. With all seats in place, there’s 16.1 cu-ft behind the third row. When the third row is folded down, there is 40.6 cu-ft of space. Fold down both of the rear rows and you have 73.3 cu-ft of space. Additionally, there are many cubbies and pockets dotted throughout the cabin to store all your personal items.
Seating Options and Dimensions
While the 2020 Highlander is a three-row vehicle, the seating capacity will vary from model to model. The max capacity for L and LE trims is eight people, with two 60/40-split bench seats. The XLE and Limited trims come standard with second-row captain’s chairs, which brings the max capacity to seven. The 60/40-split bench can be subbed in, though, if you prefer. With the top-tier Platinum, however, captain’s chairs the only option. The 2020 Highlander also has three-zone climate control, meaning all your passengers can be comfortable.
