Toyota Tundra Achieves One Million in Mileage

How many miles are on your favorite car right now? Whether it’s 50,000 or 200,000, we know how tempting it is to keep looking at the numbers rise and cling on to the vehicle. At Apple Valley Toyota, we share the same passion with our customers. Our favorite story this week is that of Victor Sheppard and his Toyota Tundra.

The Louisiana resident bought the 2007 Toyota Tundra nine years ago, and his mileage went up to an incredible 1,020,130, according to the Truck Trend Network.

“One day I was driving and the truck’s odometer hit 999,999 miles,” Sheppard said in the article. “I kept waiting for it to turn over, but it didn’t and I knew I had gone more than a mile. I brought it into LeBlanc to have it inspected.”

Grudgingly, Sheppard sold the truck to a buyer — none other than the Toyota company itself. Upon expert inspection, incredibly, the engine was in fairly good state and looked pretty clean. Not only the company bought it from him, but they negotiated a deal, with Sheppard received a 2016 Toyota Tundra Double Cab Limited.

The 2016 Toyota Tundra figures among our list of new Toyota cars. It’s a proud, American-made truck that drives with a classic feel. There’s a choice of two engines. The first is a 4.6-liter V8 engine that outputs 310 horsepower and 327 lb-ft. of torque. The second option is more powerful, and it’s a 5.7-liter V8 engine that generates 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft. of torque. This full-size pickup has three cab styles. The base SR trim includes 18-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, heated mirrors, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and many more features.

Toyota Leads the Industry in Innovation

An innovative company is one we can get behind. Seeing the ways the Toyota company seeks to not only develop useful car technology, but also make it accessible to a wide market of people through affordable cars, is what motivates us. Many vehicles in our new Toyota inventory take advantage of some of the latest in safety and convenience developments, and the Toyota brand is making waves in the industry with an impressive outlook to the future.

A report talks about how Toyota innovates in comparison to other car makers, and, for the second year in a row, the company is leading the race in the United States. The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued more patents under the company’s name than for anyone else.

“As companies in the automotive industry transform themselves into broader mobility providers, no auto company better demonstrates innovation and technology for the future than Toyota,” said Jeff Makarewicz, Senior Vice President, Toyota Technical Center (TTC), Toyota’s North American Research & Development Headquarters. “We’re focused on delivering great experiences for our customers, a cornerstone of Toyota’s product commitment, and this recognition is proof we’re living up to that promise.”

One car that’s built with forward-thinking is the 2016 Toyota RAV4. Even the standard LE trim comes with a pretty impressive assortment of features that assist the driver, such as driver blind spot mirror, roof rails, a rear privacy glass, a rearview camera, 60/40-split folding rear seats, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and a USB port for media. When it comes to safety, the Toyota Safety Sense package adds a system that detects pedestrians and warns of impending collisions, and automatically break as well. With the latest technological features and powerful safety systems, we’re confident that the 2016 Toyota RAV4 has what it takes to satisfy technophiles.
